Trinamool Congress leader Sayoni Ghosh, president of the party's youth wing, has gone into hiding since receiving a notice from the Central Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday. The notice pertains to the high-profile corruption case involving teacher appointments in West Bengal.
The ED had summoned Ghosh for questioning at their office in CGO Complex, Salt Lake, on Friday at 11:00 am.
However, when media personnel visited her residence on Tuesday, she was not found, and her father claimed to be unaware of her whereabouts. Even the Trinamool Congress party officials have not been contacted by Ghosh since the notice was issued.
ED officials state that Ghosh has not commented on whether she will appear for questioning today, leaving it uncertain whether she will comply with the summons. She is being sought for her alleged involvement in aiding expelled Trinamool Congress leader Ayan Seal, who was arrested in connection with the same corruption case, in purchasing property. The authorities intend to question Ghosh regarding this matter, and several documents have been recovered from her residence.
